Train and Kemp has been appointed as Engineers, alongside HOK as Architects for two of the residential phases at Pipera City on the outskirts of Bucharest in Romania.
Each phase comprises approximately 190 units in blocks up to 14 storeys high.
"At 375 units, the two phases are comparable in magnitude with some of the projects that we have completed in the UK", explained Terry Roberts, the Principal in charge. He added that the challenges are understanding the local building codes, approval procedures and the geology beneath Bucharest, which acts as a wobbly jelly under earthquake conditions.
